Student Activities

During the Middle School Mountaineering elective, students take part in a number of different activities related to the world of mountaineering. We visit EspacioAcción, a climbing gymnasium in Madrid, where students are instructed in the beginning techniques of rock and sport climbing. Aventura Amazonia is an elevated ropes course in Cercedilla, where the students experience the thrill of zip lines and the challenge of coping with the "vertical world". Dr. Christian Basanta conducts a First Aid course tailored to the needs of mountain and expedition medicine. More field trips and a variety of other activities are planned.
