	ARMANDO SILLES McLANEY ArmandoSilles@asmadrid.org Nacido en Madrid. Es licenciado en Filosofía y Letras (especialidad de Filología Hispánica) por la UAM. En esa misma universidad ha obtenido el Diploma de Especialista en Español como Segunda Lengua. Ha seguido varios cursillos de Lengua, Literatura, Español como Segunda Lengua y Didáctica. Está en posesión del Certificado de Aptitud Pedagógica por la UCM. Ha trabajado en varios centros de Enseñanza Secundaria. Es profesor del Colegio desde 1995. Durante el curso 1999-2000 ocupó el cargo de Director Técnico de ASM. Afirma que su vocación frustrada es la de ser camionero y que su vocación lograda es la de fastidiar alumnos. Sus aficiones son la lectura, las caminatas por la montaña, el tenis (a alto nivel, claro), los viajes y los bares ("uno de mis principales placeres es comprarme el periódico e irme a leerlo a un café"). Tiene dos lemas: "No hables, haz" y "Cuando las cosas estén mal, haz lo posible para no ponerlas peor".	Born in Madrid. He is a graduate of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, majoring in Spanish Philology. He also holds a degree as teacher of Spanish as a Second Language. He has taken university courses in the specialties of Language, Literature, and Didactics. Teacher degree from the Universidad Complutense. He worked in several high-schools in Madrid, before joining us. During the school year 1999-2000 he was the Director Técnico of ASM He claims that his frustrated dream is to become a teamster, but that, meanwhile, he enjoys giving students a hard time. He loves reading, mountain hiking, tennis (at a high level, of course,) travelling, and visiting local bars:"one of the great pleasures in life is to buy a newspaper and to read it in a nearby café" His two mottos are "Don't speak, act" and "When things are bad, do your best not to worsen them"
Carlos Berrendero en su disfraz más conseguido Carlos Berrendero in his best costume	CARLOS BERRENDERO PERDIGUERO Aunque nació en San Sebastián (de los Reyes), ha vivido muchos años en Venezuela, Puerto Rico y EE.UU. Ha obtenido el título de Double Major en Antropología y Literatura Hispanoamericana por la Universidad de Duke (Durham, NC, EE.UU.) y el Masters en Educación por la Virginia Tech. Ha trabajado como intérprete de la Embajada de Irán en Caracas y como profesor de Antropología y Español en el Colegio Internacional de Caracas. Es padre de dos ex-alumnos de ASM. Sus aficiones son el fútbol por activa y por pasiva, el Atleti, los toros, Borges y discutir vehementemente.	Although a native of San Sebastián de los Reyes, Madrid, he has been out of Spain (Venezuela, Puerto Rico and the U.S.A.) for many years. He is a graduate of Duke University, where he obtained his Double Major in Cultural Anthropology and Spanish American Literature. He also has a Masters Degree in Education from Virginia Tech. He has been the official translator of the Embassy of Iran in Caracas, and a teacher at Colegio Internacional de Caracas. His two sons, Charlie and Chema graduated from A.S.M. in 1998 and 2001. A fervent fan of Atlético de Madrid, also enjoys bullfights, Borges, and to engage in heated and vehement discussions.
	RUDOLF KRZOS Nacido en Szczecin (Polonia), es Licenciado en Filología Inglesa. Ha seguido cursos de Doctorado en la U. Complutense de Madrid. Nacionalizado español hace ya tiempo, ha sido profesor de inglés en varios centros de la Escuela Oficial de Idiomas y director de alguno de ellos. Durante el curso 2003-2004 fue Director Técnico de ASM y jefe del Departamento de Español. Es, ante todo, una persona decente que ha sabido hacer amigos en el Colegio.
	ELENA MARTÍNEZ MARTÍN elenamartinez@asmadrid.org Elena es licenciada en Filología Hispánica por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Luego estudió en la UWM de Milwaukee un Masters of Arts and Foreign Language and Literature, dando clases de español en la universidad mientras lo hacía. También ha enseñado español en varios otros lugares de los EE.UU. durante dos años. En España ha trabajado organizando actividades para estudiantes internacionales en Granada y Salamanca en el programa ISA y como profesora de español como segunda lengua. En 2001 se casó y ahora tiene un niño. Volvió enamorada de los EE.UU., por donde viajó cuanto pudo y donde tiene buenos amigos. Por ello vuelve siempre que puede. Le gusta leer y viajar, conocer gente y pasar tiempo con su familia, disfrutando de su hijo. Para ella, su trabajo es además su hobbie. Y lo dice después de diez años como profesora. Le apasiona conocer gente nueva y conocer otras culturas, así como profundizar en la suya propia. Ahora quiere echar el resto en el Colegio Americano.	My name is Mª Elena Martínez Martín . I studied Hispanic Philology in the Universidad Complutense of Madrid and I graduated in 1992. One year later I went to USA in order to learn english. I studied in a school in Madison, Wisconsin during one year. Then, I decided to continue my education and I started a Masters degree in Milwaukee at UWM. I gradueted with a Masters of Arts and Foreign Language and Literature in 1997. While I was studying I taught Spanish Language at the University. Also, I taught Spanish in Cardinal Strich College. When I finished my Masters, I began teaching full time as a Spanish profesor in Luther College in Decorah, a small village in Iowa during two years. It was a very nice and positive experience. During the summers I came to Spain and I worked with a program ISA (international studies abroad) in Granada and Salamanca. I organized activities and I helped the students there. I returned to Spain and I have been teaching Spanish to foreigners. In 2001 I got married in Madrid and now I have a baby boy. I really liked my life in the USA. I did a lot of things there. I traveled around, I met a lot of people and I think I grew to undertand the culture. I love the USA and I go when I have vacation time. I have good friends there and visiting them is one of my hobbies. Other hobbies I have are reading books, I love reading, traveling around Spain, meeting people, spending time with my family and my little baby and teaching. I love teaching. It is my job but also a hobbie. I have been teaching for almost ten years and I really like it. It is a way to meet people, got to know other cultures and also to learn more about my own country, language and even culture. Now I am starting a new stage in my career in the American School and I am very happy to be able to work with you. I am going to work hard and do my best in this institution.
	MARÍA TERESA NÚÑEZ AVILÉS Nacida en Madrid. Es Licenciada en Filología Hispánica (especialidad en literatura) por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Luego ha realizado cursos de disciplinas variadas simultáneamente a su trabajo, como creación de empresas, técnicas de estudio, control mental,  didáctica para segunda lengua,... Ha trabajado en Academias de Madrid (Domine) en Embajadas en Madrid (Bélgica, Suecia, Finlandia, Holanda) para el Grupo Mitsubishi y en Schiller International University en Madrid, también ha impartido cursos intensivos en Dinamarca para el Grupo Arkil en Ahrüs, siempre enseñando español como segunda lengua a niños de 10 a 80 años. Después de su experiencia empresarial de cuatro años en Portugal, ha vuelto a la enseñanza. Sus aficiones son : jugar con su hija, ver crecer los tomates en su pequeña huerta , la pesca sin muerte, y seguir aprendiendo con nuevos cursos (ahora de biblioteconomía). Actualmente vive en Madrid.	Maite was born in Madrid. She holds the degree of Licenciada in Spanish Philology (Literature) from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She has studied very different subjects:
	MARIANA RAMÍREZ BELMONTE Nacida en Albacete. Licenciada en Filología Inglesa por la Universidad de Alicante. Ha obtenido el Certificado de Aptitud Pedagógica por la misma Universidad. Posee el título de Masters en Linguística Española por la Universidad de Nuevo México (Albuquerque, N.M., EE.UU.) Ha trabajado como profesora de Español como Lengua Extranjera en la Universidad de Nuevo México durante tres años , en varias academias privadas de Alicante y en compañías multinacionales en Madrid. Su afición es viajar. Y de hecho ahora está en Gran Bretaña.	Born in Albacete. She is a graduate of the University of Alicante, majoring in English Philology. Obtained a Teaching degree from the same University. She also holds a Masters Degree in Spanish Linguistics from U.N.M. (University of New Mexico), Albuquerque, U.S.A. She has worked as a teacher of Spanish as a Second Language in the University of New Mexico for three years, in some private schools in Alicante (Spain) and in multinational corporations in Madrid. Her hobby is travelling. She is now working in the UK.
