This is the principal curriculum for Americans as well as children of other nationalities to pursue a course of study leading to admission to U.S. colleges and universities. Our program compares favorably to the best public and private high schools in the United States and other American international schools abroad.
the international baccalaureate program*
The IB program is a two-year, pre-university course of study designed to facilitate mobility of students and international understanding. The program is a comprehensive curriculum, leading to examinations for students in grades 11 and 12, and is compatible iwth the normal ASM diploma program. The IB diploma is accepted in over 100 countries, including the United States, as an accepted degree of entrance into their institutions of higher learning.
the official spanish program
Students who are Spanish citizens follow the normal U.S. college preparatory program but also take certain courses in advanced Spanish, Spanish literature and culture, as prescribed by the Ministry of Education. This program prepares students for the Spanish college entrance exam "Selectividad".
*Whenever possible, the IB syllabi will be integrated so more ASM students may participate in these junior and senior level courses and sit for the exam of their choosing, IB, or as preparation for the Spanish "Selectividad".
