The American School of Madrid admits academically qualified students of all nationalities and culture whose parents are familiar with and supportive of ASM's bylaws, philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures.
ASM takes into account, but is not limited to, considerations such as intellectual ability and aptitudes, available space in the school, extracurricular interests and financial resources of the family. Admission is based on the following criteria:
- a student's past academic record and performance
- appropriate letters of recommendation
- a standardized battery of tests, including proficiency in English
- student interview by the Head of Admissions and the appropriate School Director.
Preference is given to U.S. students who can meet the School's academic standards and financial requirements. Thereafter, students are admitted who meet the above requirements and have a need for an American education.
The school also gives preference to brothers and sisters of currently enrolled students, but does not guarantee their admission.
Regardless of the date of application, ASM ultimately accepts those qualified students who, in the opinion of the School Administration, will most likely contribute to and benefit from the program offered at the American School of Madrid.
An application form is included on this website. Applications are accepted in January for those wishing to apply for September of the following academic year. For mid-year transfers please contact admissions@asmadrid.org .
Applications will only be considered complete and forwarded to the Admissions Committee when ASM has received the family application, student application, all of the required documents mentioned on the application form and the application fee. We request that you complete ALL sections of the application including ALL signatures and candidate's present school e-mail and contact information to expedite this process.
