Boy Scouting is available to boys who are 11 through 17 years old. The program achieves the BSA's objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness. Troop 10 has maintained a presence in Madrid for over 20 years and is proud to have the American School of Madrid as its charter organization.  English-speaking scouts from several Madrid-area schools participate.

Troop activities are centered around the patrol concept.  In addition to camping in the local area, the Troop strives to participate in as many Charlemagne District and Transatlantic Council sponsored events as possible.  Semi-annual Camporees at U.S. Naval Station, Rota are popular events.

Opportunities exist for Troop members to participate in one or more of the annual Transatlantic Council summer camps held in England, Germany, or Switzerland.  These unique opportunities focus on the high adventure aspects of scouting.

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

The Boy Scouts of America is the nation's foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training.   The Scouting program will continue to:

  • Offer young people responsible fun and adventure;
  • Instill in young people lifetime values and develop in them ethical character as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law;
  • Train young people in citizenship, service, and leadership;
  • Serve America's communities and families with its quality, values-based program.
